Product Description
Between Chronicles and Legends, what made Raistlin aspire to godhood?
Raistlin Majere has become a Black Robe wizard and travels to Neraka, the lord city of the Dark Queen, ostensibly to work for her, though in reality he means to further his own quest for power. But Takhisis finds out that the dragon orb has entered her city and sends her draconians to find and destroy the wizard who has it in his possession. Before her agents can strike, though, Raistlin finds out that Takhisis means to take control of all wizardly magic. She has ordered Kitiara to set a trap for the Gods of Magic on the Night of the Eye, when all the high-ranking wizards will be in Neraka to celebrate.
As the forces of light, with help from the good dragons, are turning the tide of battle, Raistlin is forced to flee, for his foes are closing in on him. As the Dragon Highlords vie for the Crown of Power in the Temple of the Dark Queen, Raistlin Majere wages his own desperate battle against Takhisis in the dungeons below and meets again the brother he betrayed. The fate of the world hangs in the balance.

Well, for any of us that follow Weis and Hickman when they write Dragonlance this third book in the Lost Chronicles was a long time coming!

These people never disappoint me though.  I know some were not thrilled with some of this trilogy but the fact that they can write "more of the story" and fill in areas so that I can have more of the characters I have come to love... well.. it would be hard to disappoint me.

Raistlin is a wizard that people love to hate... and Weis and Hickman make sure he consistently  lives up to his reputation.

I am really glad that this book finally came out and if there was any disappointment at all it would be from waiting for so long to get it!

This book covered Raistlin more closely after the others got lost in the Maelstrom and are presumed dead. Raistlin continues on being devious and working his way towards more and more power.   He is definitely one of the better villain and yet a piece of you keeps hoping he will turn out good in the end... at all times he is really well written.

So yes, I enjoyed this book!  It only reminds me that by next year sometime it might be time to reread the first six books once again!  It's hard to stay away from Tanis half-elf, and Caramon, and Tika, and Tasslehoff , and Flint for any length of time!

Great characters and great stories... I can't ask for more.

And just so I don't forget...

It's been the same artist for all the books, Matt Stawicki, who did another superb job on the cover of this book.

Vaguely related but potentially amusing story: Did you know there's a Shanra in the Dragonlance 'verse? I was so amused when I found that out as I had no idea. I'm still tempted to try and find a copy of the book/series just to see what she's like.

Well, all packed and raring to go now. Looking forward to getting to a new place. I have touched base with a couple of people on lj who are attending and we might hook up. Do want to have one good meal out as hotel restaurants usually are mediocare at best. Found out I have a breakfast included in the package. Usually hard to screw that up. Think Bob is gonna miss us and Claudette just dumped rain. So we will keep our fingers crossed. Not taking my laptop cause don't want to have to lug it on the plane. Thus I won't be onling for over a week. Give you a break from me. Keep the ol' chin up. Vala2
